How long does counselling go on for?
Counselling can last for whatever duration you need – from one session to ongoing sessions. We will talk about your needs and goals and regularly review them as we work together.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and would usually be held once a week at the same time. However, I am able to discuss your counselling needs with you if you felt an alternate model was required.
What if I want to stop counselling?
That’s fine. I ask for one week’s notice to cancel your appointment. Counselling is for you – if it’s time to end because you’ve achieved your goals or if it isn’t working then you can stop. Ideally, I would talk through our ending with you, to help you check that ending is right now, but these are your sessions and you can determine the content.
When do I pay?
Payment should be made in advance of each session unless otherwise agreed with me. My bank details will be available on my introductory information which I will send out to you. Alternatively, you can pay when you arrive for each session.
Will anyone know what we are talking about?
Counselling is an acutely personal journey and it is essential that what we talk about remains between us. There are, though, some legal and ethical exceptions to privacy and these are stated in my privacy notice.
